Many computer users are aware of keyboard shortcuts or key combinations. Using them, you will be able to perform actions and operations in a much faster way than just using the mouse. Still, this is available only on paper, because in reality, it's much faster to use mouse gestures than regular keyboard shortcuts. Unfortunately, not many people are aware of mouse gestures and the number of applications on the market that offer this functionality is not so high.

A program which can help you turn your mouse into a powerful tool, allowing you to perform various gestures, is StrokeIt. After installing and running the application, the user will notice its icon in the system tray. Right clicking on it will activate the program's functionality, while right clicking again will disable it. When accessing the main interface of StrokeIt, the user will see a list of applications and the corresponding shortcut keys for each action and operation present inside the application.

The most used programs are added into the list, but the user can easily add new ones. By clicking on a program's name, a list of actions will be displayed, together with the shortcut key or key combination that triggers the action. At this point, the user will be able to add his desired mouse gesture. These gestures include moving the mouse in the shape of a letter, a number and so on.

In case the user wants to see what a certain mouse gesture is for, he can use the special feature from StrokeIt, called Learn Gesture, which allows making any gesture with the mouse cursor, while StrokeIt will display the corresponding application. In case the user needs to re-install the program, he can export the list of programs and gestures to a configuration file, which can then be imported back into StrokeIt.

Pros

It allows you to perform various actions and operations using mouse gestures. Besides that, the user can define gestures for any application. What's more, the program can display the corresponding application for a certain gesture. Furthermore, the list of apps and gestures can be exported to a configuration file.

Cons

Adding gestures to the program's interface may take a lot of time, especially if you are a beginner. Using StrokeIt, you will be able to add mouse gestures, for controlling any application, thus saving time and effort.
